    The Carolina

As bloggers, we spend a great deal of time engaging virtually. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter – at the click of a button we're able to connect at all hours of the day with people from all over the world. But sometimes, it's nice to just sit down and chat over drinks and good food, which is exactly what our group did earlier this month.

In 2016, celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck rebranded his Charlotte eatery to WP Kitchen & Bar. Under the new concept, the restaurant launched a cocktail hour series known as #MeetMeAtWP. Every few months, an individual or group is invited to host the cocktail hour, during which the restaurant offers a signature cocktail and complementary bar bites.

In February, our group had the honor of hosting the event and got to mingle with friends, family, and the broader Charlotte community, while enjoying the restaurant's delicious offerings.

The evening kicked off with one of WP's signature cocktails, The Carolina, a combination of Bàn vodka, St. Germain, Prosecco and lemon. Served in a coupe glass, the drink set the festive tone for our gathering.

To accompany our cocktails, WP Kitchen & Bar served an impressive assortment of bar bites and wood fired pizzas. Shrimp rolls with curry in squid ink brioche, pita points with hummus and feta, crab cakes, mini sliders, squash soup shooters, BBQ chicken pizza, and arugula shrimp pizza. As one can imagine, our food-loving group was in "foodie heaven".

The group sipped and mingled along the bar area throughout the evening. One particularly fun feature of the gathering was the opportunity to spend time with people from the broader Charlotte community. We meet regularly as a group, but a majority of our events are focused on blogger activities. Extending an invitation to followers and food enthusiasts beyond our community of bloggers was a treat and something we look forward to doing again in the future.

A big thank you to WP Kitchen & Bar for inviting the Charlotte Food Bloggers to host February's #MeetMeAtWP. We had a ball!
