This past January, the Charlotte Food Bloggers kicked off the new year with a healthy eating themed gathering at Yafo Kitchen in Charlotte’s south park. A partnership between acclaimed restauranteur Frank Scibelli and Executive Chef Shai Fargian, the restaurant serves a mediterranean inspired menu in a fast-casual atmosphere and has been a raved about addition to Charlotte’s food scene.
Throughout the evening, our blogger group enjoyed learning the process for making the restaurant’s ever-popular brussel sprouts and a delicious beet hummus, which was recently added to the menu.

The group also enjoyed a wonderful house made cocktail of champagne, cucumber water, and mint. The perfect alternative to a Bellini or Mimosa on a hot day!
After learning from and sampling Chef Fargian’s recipes, the group was treated to take-home jars of Yafo Kitchen’s signature Sharon salad and a recipe card with Chef Fargian’s tips and tricks for making his perfectly smooth hummus (recipe link here).
The group had a ball and can’t wait for the opening of a second location in Plaza Midwood later this year. A huge thank you to everyone at Yafo for treating us to such a fun and delicious evening!
